About the Jabez Retreat Center
“Jabez Retreat Center, Inc. is for the purpose of Pastor retreats and group retreats for all Christian denominations. Come for spiritual renewal to rest and for meditation. It is large enough to sleep 40, but designed as well that a Pastor alone or with a spouse might get away for a time for rest and reflection.”

Wednesday Evenings at 7:00pm
Dave and Sue Herriman will deliver this Beth Moore series.
The series will run from Sept 6th to Oct 25th on Wednesday nights — 6:30 fellowship, 7:00 start — with an hour video then 20-30 minutes of discussion. Companion student workbooks can be ordered for about $18 before the study begins: contact Dave.
“James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.”
Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study
Starting September 13th. Wednesday mornings at 9:30am.
This is a Beth Moore study exploring the depth behind the purpose of the tabernacle in every aspect. We have four new leaders facilitating our study: Ruth Ann Frances, Anita Weaver, Linda Grimmet and Sheryl Whitaker! Come join us on Wednesday mornings! For more information, contact Terry Putthoff via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Friday Night September 1st at 7:00 pm at Open Range
Come and Bring a Friend!
Jake says “we will have food drinks and music, then Sam Doney will be giving the lesson. Following that we will have testimonies, s’mores, and a few games to finish out the night. Sam’s message is called “evidence of existence.”

First Saturday of Each Month 9 to 11 am
Open Range Fellowship is partnering with Lee’s Summit Social Services (LSSS) in providing a Lone Jack-area food pantry called the “Pardner” Pantry. ORF will be open the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 – 11:00 am. There will be pre-bagged grocery items for any family in need.
If you’d like to help or volunteer, please contact Janna at 816-786-5126 or email@example.com.
Please download and share the Pardner Pantry flyer here!
Volunteering is a blessing on its own! Many people pitch in to help with church activities occur because they’re so grateful for the love of God and the sacrifice Jesus made for them on the cross. Open Range periodically needs help in a few areas, and while some tasks may seem unfamiliar, with your willing heart we can train you in whichever area you feel led to support!
Currently ORF needs people in the following areas:
- TechTeam (helping to show prepared PowerPoint files during the services).
- Kids’ Church (assist current leaders who show and teach Bible lessons).
- Greeters (meet people coming in before Saturday and Sunday services).
Contact the church office by phone (816-697-2002) or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
Meetings held on the Second and Fourth Fridays each month, 7pm.
Led by Ken Forbes, the group supports and encourages your skill and confidence to share the Gospel! This new round of sessions will help you reach out to potential believers!
Questions? Call or text Ken at 816-510-0380.
First Tuesday of the month, 7:00pm.
Join us as we gather to pray for God’s intercession in the church, for our leaders and for our nation.
Our schedules are already filled with activities and it’s hard to find space for another. But it’s helpful to note that all that busy-ness in our own strength cannot compare to the advantage God’s help can provide through prayer.
And don’t worry about not knowing what to pray for or which words to use. The Holy Spirit moves each of us in our own way.
Meetings on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays each month, running from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
Faith KeepHers (formerly LeadHer) strives to help each woman recognize opportunities to lead, from where she has already been perfectly placed and called. Join Nancy Ledgerwood & Gerilynn Hoover at Open Range Fellowship.
